PLANS & DOCUMENTS

Benefits to Employers

According to the Welfare-to-Work Partnership, the National Alliance of Business, the Manpower Demonstration Research Corporation, and others, there are many reasons to hire public assistance recipients.

  • Improve the bottom line by filling positions with motivated, hard working employees.
  • Reduce hiring costs through utilizing Welfare-to-Work agencies who do not charge fees and are willing to customize services to meet employer needs.
  • Reduce payroll costs with tax credits and On-The-Job Training Programs available on state and federal levels.
  • Hire job ready workers with pre-employment skills, such as timeliness, stress management, and working with others, gained through Welfare-To-Work program providers.
  • Enjoy a more stable workforce with transitional and post-employment support offered by WTW program providers.
  • Partner with the WTW program community for development of customized or subsidized training for new workers.
  • Increase productivity of existing employees by implementing a WTW program and building a sense of pride and service among employees.
  • Reduce social costs and improve the local economy by shrinking community dependence on welfare.
  • Increase potential sales because participation in the Welfare-To-Work initiative helps build more prosperous communities and reinforces American values.
